Why This Works
If you’ve been an art buyer, you’re probably also an art seller. Once the bug has hit, there’s always another painting, photograph, litho or sculpture that captures your fancy and there’s just so much wall space. We certainly don’t believe in buying art to store it; we buy art to enjoy it and enrich our lives. So now that there’s a piece you want to sell, let us help you sell it. Think of Dubaigne Fine Art as the objective alternative to auctions with the benefit that you continue to enjoy the artwork until it sells. Selling with Dubaigne is also a straight-forward and, best of all, a relatively easy and painless process for all concerned. Here's why. First, we need you to sign the appropriate agreement; just download it from the Agreements page. When we have that, we'll want high-quality images of the work you want to put up. We'll put a watermark on the work, make a thumbnail and an image no larger than 5" x 7" for the popup which will also have a site watermark. For each piece, we ask you to give us a title, description, size, an asking price and a minimum price or discount level. The reason for the this is that we don't want to bother you with silly offers below your minimum. We act as your broker in the negotiation until you accept an offer or one of you walks away. Once we receive an offer you find acceptable, we'll invoice the buyer, adding 15% for shipping. The buyer pays us. When the funds are cleared (which could be same day if they wire money or use Paypal), we'll advise you that the funds are in and give you the shipping information. You are required to provide us with proof of shipment and insurance which we'll forward to the buyer. Once you've done that, we release payment to you less our 25% commission. In the end, Dubaigne Fine Art is the fairest way to buy and sell artwork available today. To purchase or make an offer for any work throughout the site, email cd@dubaigne.com. Be sure to include the artist's name and artwork's name.
