How This Works: Buyers

For a buyer, it really doesn’t matter if you’re buying from a collector who has something to sell, from an artist, photographer or sculptor who has listed an artwork, or from a gallery who has listed works for sale.  Each seller has provided an asking price and a minimum they’ll accept.  Contact us to make an offer for the artwork you want.  If your offer is below the minimum, we’ll let you know that immediately.  If your offer meets the minimum, we’ll contact the seller with your price.  They may accept or they may counter with a lower asking price.  We’ll act as your intermediary until the deal is concluded or one of you walks away.

We also understand that, despite the wonders of technology, you might want to examine an expensive piece of artwork before committing to purchase outright.  If that is the case, we will make best efforts to have the artwork in question available for you to view at your expense. If the size or weight of the piece makes speculative travel too costly, arrangements can be made for you to view the piece at its current location.

If your purchase offer is accepted, we’ll invoice you for the agreed price plus 15% shipping within the continental US (or a custom price outside the continental US).  If you are outside the US, shipping does not include custom or import fees levied by your country.  When we receive your payment and shipping address, we’ll advise the seller once your payment has cleared that they should ship to you.  The seller is obligated to ship properly with appropriate levels of insurance against damage or loss in shipping.  The seller is also obligated to provide us with proof of shipment.  Once we receive that proof, we will forward the proof to you and release your payment to the seller.
